Description

Typical usecase: I wanna edit or see details of some organization. So I click on the tree, find the organization ORG D, which is situated in tree like ORG A -> ORG B -> ORG C -> ORG D, and click on it. Then I move to "Structure elements" page to see the ORG D, but there is none. It is caused by filter that is set to show all elements below the selected element.

I would expect that the filter would be filled so I see the elements below + the element I clicked on. e.g. like the "Users" tab right next to "Structure elements".

  • Target version set to Diamond (7.4.0)
  • Estimated time set to 4.00 h

Maybe edit control can be added to tree directly (maybe remove control too)?

Note: I had this feature implemented before, but it was a little confusing (parent and children together) and i removed it after some discussions with tüm.

  • Priority changed from Low to Normal

Increasing priority based on a feedback from a customer. The admin could not find how to edit an organisation's parent node.

The filter on the sub-tab "Structure elements" could work exactly the same as the filter on the sub-tab "Users". It would be consistent. So just change the title in the select box from "Superior element" to a more generic "Element in organization structure" and it wouldn't be confusing anymore to show both parent and children together.

Selected node is shown above the table (screenshots added for both tree modes).

Feedback will be done in #1351.
